Want to Give Back to the Environment and
Network at the Same Time?
Then we have just the opportunity for you!
Please join us for an in person lunch and learn and volunteer event!
The event will take place at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education.
The lunch and learn topic, presented by Steve Goin, Director of Land & Facilities, is "Stewardships at the Schuylkill Center"
The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education sits on 365 acres that includes a wide variety of natural ecosystems in various stages of succession. With a history of disturbance, current challenges, and the consideration of potential threats, how can the Center maximize the ecological value of our land and its programmatic use? How can we become better land stewards while teaching others how to be better stewards themselves?
After the presentation, SWEP GP will be assisting the center with their Treevitalize grant program goals. This may include pruning or mulching existing trees, planting trees, and/or invasive species removal. It is recommended to wear long plants and sleeves as well as to wear sturdy shoes! Please bring along a water bottle or beverage to keep you hydrated. This will be a fun volunteer event with great opportunity for some networking. Hope to see you there!
