SWEP of Greater Philadelphia Environmental Grant Program - 2008
SWEP of Greater Philadelphia is announcing the opening of its 2008 environmental Grant Program
to help fund organizations or programs that creatively address a locally defined need to
create, enhance, restore, or protect the natural environment or to provide environmental awareness
through educational sessions.
For 2008, the available funds are between $1,000 and $2,000, depending on project needs.
Grant applications will be accepted between February 1, 2008 and March 21, 2008 and the Grant Award
will be announced during National Environmental Education Week (April 13 - April 19, 2008).
To be eligible for the Grant, applicants and projects must be located within southeast Pennsylvania
or northern Delaware. Eligible applicants may include non-profit organizations, education centers,
youth groups, and individuals.
Many different types of projects will be considered; however, preference will be given to projects
related to local environmental issues, projects involving women's and/or girl's organizations,
and projects fostering the involvement of women and/or girls in environmental issues,
the sciences, or engineering.
